The clear skin market is a big one. With so many products to choose from to help banish those spots that never seem to cease regardless of your age, finding the right one for you can be a battle in and of itself. But as it turns out, you can go all natural will your skin care regime. Treatments that are good for your skin can also be good for the environment, which is a win-win in our books! Get rid of those products containing harsh chemicals and discover a brand new way to say goodbye to your acne. Here are 5 tips to clear skin—no chemicals required!
Homemade Acne Spot Treatment
To battle those life-altering, often painful localized blemishes, why not make a chemical-free concoction right in your own kitchen? Using this particular homemade acne spot treatment, you’ll just need a couple of ingredients and a few minutes. Lemon will dry out the spot while the chromium in brewer’s yeast (yes, the same kind found in beer!) will treat the skin.
If this doesn’t work for you—never fear! There are plenty of other recipes out there and even a few all-natural products like Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Targeted Spot Treatment.
A few pinches of brewer’s yeast
A squeeze of lemon juice
A bit of water
Create a paste with a few pinches of brewer’s yeast, a squeeze of lemon juice and a tad of water. Mix of the concoction and apply it to your localized blemishes, covering with a bandage, and leaving for 10 minutes before washing off.

Adding oil to your face may seem counterproductive in your battle against acne, particularly if you already have oily skin. Astringent oils mixed with essential oils, specifically, can be just the natural remedy you’ve been searching for. Rather than stripping your skin of all moisture which, in turn, causes your skin to produce more sebum, oils provide moisturizing properties while cleansing—no need for two steps! Furthermore, unique combinations can be put together to adjust to suit your particular skin type.
Borage Seed Oil
Hemp Seed Oil
Mix up one part borage seed oil, two parts grape seed oil, one part hazelnut oil and one part hemp seed oil. Before bed, wet your face with warm water and rub a quarter-sized amount of the oil mixture onto your face in circular motions for about two minutes. Wet a washcloth with hot, but not scalding water, wring it out and lay it over your face—use a second, wet with hot water and wrung out hand towel to cover the washcloth and seal in the steam. Let sit until cooled to room temperature, wipe repeat and enjoy the results.

Simple and Calming Cleanser
Cleansers are something that you use everyday, making them an important piece of your acne fighting repertoire. Even though there are tons to choose from, many contain unnatural ingredients that can be harsh on your skin. The key is to look for something that contains normal sounding ingredients—take a look at the label and see if you can pronounce them all. If you can’t, keep looking. If you can, you’ve found yourself a winner.
A truly natural, chemical-free way to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin while helping to rid you of your acne is the Ultrabland Beeswax Cleanser by Lush Cosmetics. Something you’ve surely never considered before, beeswax is a purely natural way to get to bed makeup-free.
