Staying fit doesn’t mean saying goodbye to the sweeter things in life. At HBFit, we believe you should never stop rewarding yourself for your healthy lifestyle. If you’re health-conscious and still want to have your cake (and eat it too), these five ultra-indulgent smoothies are the perfect dessert for you.

Blue, Yellow, and Green Smoothie

The colors in this smoothie come from the main three ingredients: blueberries, bananas, and green tea. Blueberries are super healthy — the high-fiber fruits have lots of natural antioxidants and both vitamin A and C. Added to the potassium punch you get from bananas and the powerful antioxidant factor of green tea, this yummy smoothie is a nutrient-rich dream come true.

3 tablespoons water

1 green tea bag

2 teaspoons honey

2 cups frozen blueberries

1 banana

1 cup vanilla soy milk

With water and teabag, brew green tea by letting teabag steep for 3 minutes. Stir honey into tea.

Combine berries, banana, and soy milk together in a blender until totally smooth.

Add in tea, and blend ingredients further. Some additional tea or water might be necessary to thin the mixture while blending until smooth. Serves 1-2.

Coconut Core Smoothie

The recipe for this delicious post-workout dessert smoothie comes courtesy of Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn from Tone it Up. It’s slimming, sweet, and potassium-packed to provide you with all the goodness you need after a solid sweat session.

1 cup coconut water

1 scoop vanilla Perfect Fit protein

2 tablespoons coconut shavings

1 sliced frozen banana

1 cup mixed berries

1/2 lime, juiced

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Serves 1-2.

Beet and Berry Smoothie

Though a little more labour-intensive, this delicious smoothie is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and your fit lifestyle. Berries are big on antioxidants and fiber, and are powerful anti-inflammatory and digestive agents just like beets! Mixing raw berries with cranberry juice and beetroot makes this smoothie a serious source of vitamin C.

1 cup cooked beetroots, chopped

2/3 cup to 1 cup berries of your choosing (but it’s best if you include raspberries)

1 cup cranberry juice

1 cup vanilla yogurt

Puree beetroot, berries, and cranberry juice until smooth.

Pour puree through a strainer, and whisk together liquid with yogurt. Blend until combined. Serves 2-4.

Chocolate Matcha Smoothie

This smoothie is pure decadence, but somehow it’s still amazing for you. With the savory sweetness and antioxidants of cocoa, plus the health benefits of matcha, both your taste buds and immune system are sure to thank you.

2 teaspoons cocoa powder

2 teaspoons House of Matcha matcha powder (their Ceremony powder works best!)

1/2 cup oats

1 sliced banana

1 cup almond milk

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Serves 1-2.

Banana Ginger Smoothie

Packed with fiber, potassium, and essential vitamins, bananas are some of the healthiest foods out there. This smoothie mixes bananas with ginger — a tried and true digestive relief and anti-inflammatory — and the tummy-soothing protein power of yogurt. The result is a delicious dessert smoothie that’s sure to give your digestive system the love it needs.

1 sliced banana

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Serves 2.
