BALANCING OUT WITH BELLA GARRISON

With a busy holiday season in full swing, I recently took the opportunity to recharge and reboot with a fabulous lymphatic massage from Health Coach and Lymphatic Decongestive Therapist Bella Garrison. Her treatment works to target and release waste that collects in the lymph nodes, flushing out toxins from the lymphatic pathways and balancing out the nervous system. Needless to say, I left my session feeling SO rejuvenated and inspired!

Bella is a true wellness warrior. In addition to her work as a Lymphatic Therapist she’s also a Detox Specialist and Smoothie Coach who focuses on digestive health, detoxification and harmonizing the body with whole foods and nutritional smoothies. She’s truly a woman who does it all.  

After having such a wonderful treatment, I reached out to Bella about sharing some of her recipes and she was kind enough to create three smoothies just for HBfit. I’m so excited to give you the inside scoop on these detoxifying smoothie recipes right in time for the holidays! They’ll help keep you balanced and on track despite the happy indulgences that come with this time of year.

 BELLA’S BALANCING SMOOTHIES

Prep: Wash, Chop and place ingredients in your blender in the order they’re listed

GET IT DONE                                                                                                          

  • ¾ cup purified water
  • ¾ cup almond milk
  • ½ green apple
  • ½ inch ginger root or 1 tsp. powder
  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 3 collard leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. flax oil
  • 1 squeeze of lemon
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • Dash of maca powder
  • 1 squirt of liquid garlic
  • 1 serving of probiotic

KEEP YA’ GO’IN                                                                                                            

  • 1 ½ cups filtered water
  • 2 Tbsp. chia seeds*
  • ½ apple
  • ½ cup mixed sprouts
  • Handful of berries
  • ½ banana
  • 1 cup spring mix
  • 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. hemp oil
  • 1 tsp. nori powder or dulse
  • 5 drops of liquid vitamin D
  • 5 drops of stevia (optional)

*Add chia seeds to water first, stirring on and off for 10 minutes, then add other ingredients.

MORNING ELIXIR                                                                                                 

  • 1 ½ cups almond milk
  • 1 handful of kale
  • ½ cup frozen peaches
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • 1 scoop of greens powder
  • 2 Tbsp. goji berries
  • 1 Tbsp. cacao nibs
  • 2 tsp. MCT oil
  • Squirt of lemon
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • ½ tsp. maca
  • Pinch of Celtic sea salt (optional)

    We are making the ‘Getting Done’ smoothie tomorrow morning… minus the garlic! We know it’s good for us but we can’t go there yet!
