Candice Kumai has quite the resume. At 23, the Le Cordon Bleu trained chef was the youngest contestant on Top Chef’s inaugural season. Fast forward 9 years and she has continued to absolutely kill it–writing 5 cookbooks, regularly appearing on E! as a correspondent while radiating positivity with her mantra “Beauty is an inside job.” Amen sister, we couldn’t agree more.
And one of our favorite ways to keep our “insides” beautiful is drinking smoothies loaded with vitamins and with fall in full swing, we asked Candice to create something seasonal and delicious, obviously #HBFIT approved. She created a pumpkin spice smoothie with no refined sugars- it’s absolutely delicious! It will satisfy your sweet tooth and your desire for all things pumpkin- it might be a viral meme but there’s some truth to it, girls love pumpkin. 1 1⁄2 cups unsweetened almond milk
3⁄4 cup organic pumpkin puree
1 frozen banana
1⁄2 Bartlett pear, cored
1⁄4 teaspoon pumpkin spice
4 tablespoons (1 scoop) protein powder
1⁄2 cup ice
Add ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth.
