This month we’re talking about Appreciation. I want to use this month to think about how to manifest gratitude into an everyday practice.
Daily appreciation starts with yourself—exercise and eating healthy are my way of loving myself. After every workout I thank my body for pushing through it and feed it the proper nutrients it needs to be satisfied and recover.
Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and said I love you & I appreciate you? I challenge you to do that everyday for 10 days and see if you feel a difference! It might sound silly, but I talk to myself and I really think it’s beneficial for my soul!
Appreciation then extends outside yourself—to all of those you interact with on a daily basis. When was the last time you walked into a store and asked someone where something is? I’m sure you have in the last 24 hours. When was the last time you genuinely said to that person, “I appreciate your work! Thank you!”? I try to say that to anyone I come into contact with—from the lady who bags my groceries to the cab driver who took me to a meeting on time. Saying thank you as much as possible goes a long way—it is a simple yet powerful way to recognize how many people have helped you on a daily basis.
As we are coming out of last months theme of reflection, it might have you thinking about your friends and as we move into appreciation i think its really important to continue thinking about them! This month is about making time for those who are important to you. It’s about recognizing that friendship is not a one way street and that sometimes it takes some work to find time to see one another. This is also a time to recognize the friendships that no long serve you. Let them go and move on.
Lastly, but certainly not least, I want to know how much I appreciate your support. This site is for you.
