Attaining and maintaining flawless skin is a full time job — one that can leave you with empty pockets and a drawer full of beauty products that don’t work. We’ve all been there and for our New York City babes, we’ve got you.
Heyday, a facial shop located in NoMad, makes getting a facial easier (and probably faster) than grabbing a sweetgreen salad during lunchtime. According to Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Adam Ross, “Heyday was born out of the notion that facials have long been known as one of the best ways to take care of your skin for the long-term. Yet, facials have traditionally been difficult to access, fit into your schedule, and afford regularly. If you’re only doing them once or twice a year, it doesn’t make much of a difference. We wanted to build something that turned it from an indulgence into the regular, self-care and wellness ritual it should be.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
When we heard about Heyday for the first time, we couldn’t believe that there was actually a place to squeeze in spa quality facials fast so we can go back to trying to squeeze in everything else. We talked to Michael Pollack, Chief Brand Officer & another Heyday co-founder and he just gets it: “New Yorkers hustle. We value production, expression, getting things done, and bringing dreams to life. All of that takes a toll on our minds and bodies and it’s important to build self-care rituals in our lives. To us, that’s everything from digitally detoxing an hour before bed to having a healthy breakfast to making time for meditation, and of course, a monthly facial to check in with your skin.”
A monthly facial that won’t break the bank? We’re sold…and addicted, especially if we get to walk out with “cleaner, healthier, skin” as promised by Heyday esthetician, Yasmin. “We’re able to target issues before they arise.” she says and fellow esthetician agrees, “One of my favorites is Naturopathica’s Oat Cleansing Facial Polish. It’s a mask, it’s a cleanser, it’s an exfoliant, it’s an anti-redness product. It just makes skin happy, period. I also love the Herbivore Botanicals’ Brighten mask. It seriously does exactly what is says and you’re beaming light after using it,” says Liana. “Hold on, let me whip out my shades,” Yasmin adds. After our visit, we were even lucky to walk away with a few last minute skin care reminders: make sure not to over exfoliate and always clean your makeup brushes!
It’s safe to say that Heyday has earned a place on our list of skincare go-tos and we’ll definitely be stopping by their pop-up at the moment at nail salon tenoverten’s Financial District location and their second full-service shop opening this summer in Tribeca.
