HBFIT SIPS: MARGARITAS BY KITCHY KITCHEN

This Sunday is National Margarita Day–need we say more?!? We knew that we had to get the ultimate recipe to celebrate, so we went to our go-to mixologist–Claire Thomas of The Kitchy Kitchen. Not only did she spill her signature marg mix, but gave us a fruity AND spicy variation as well. Check out how to make the tasty trio, below:

CLASSIC (Makes a single serving)

3 ounces tequila

3 tablespoons lime juice

1 teaspoon agave nectar

1 tablespoon triple sec

1 handful ice

Directions: 

1. To infuse your own tequila, simply combine 1 sliced jalapeño, seeds and all, with 3 cups tequila. The longer it sits, the spicier it will get, so I always have extra plain tequila on hand in case I need to knock back the heat a little bit when mixing. Let it infuse for at least 24 hours.

2. To make the margarita, combine all of the ingredients in a blender, and puree until smooth. If you prefer it over the rocks, blend together all of the ingredients other than the ice, strain, and pour over ice. Enjoy!

CUCUMBER SERRANO (Makes a single serving)

1 ounce serrano infused tequila

2 ounces silver tequila

3 tablespoons lime juice

1 teaspoon agave nectar

1/4 cup sliced cucumber

1 handful ice

Directions:

BLOOD ORANGE RASPBERRY (Makes a single serving)

2 tablespoons blood orange juice

1 handful raspberry

1 teaspoon agave nectar

1 tablespoon triple sec

1 handful ice

Directions: 

1. To make the margarita, combine all of the ingredients in a blender, and puree until smooth. If you prefer it over the rocks, blend together all of the ingredients other than the ice, strain, and pour over ice. Enjoy!
