We have been feeling the season change majorly–and so has our skin. To best prepare our complexions for sunshine and the temperature rise, we consulted our go-to holistic guru, Shamara Bondaroff of SB Skin. You might remember her #HBFIT Approved Microcurrent Facial (which is a great way to re-hydrate your skin). We asked Shamara to share some simple suggestions that we can incorporate into our daily routines.
Here’s SB’s guide to keeping your skin HBFIT this Spring:
HEALTH Tips: Spring is a time for expanding energy, not storing. Spring clean your diet by replacing soups and roasted root veggies with fresh, organic seasonal fruits and greens, such as:
Apples, red grapes, strawberries, cherries & apricots
Citrus fruits (Vitamin C does wonders for cold and allergy symptoms!)
Collard greens, asparagus, peas, radishes, fava beans, artichokes, dandelion greens & cauliflower
Fish and nuts (Both have properties that boost immunity and fight inflammation!)
BEAUTY Tips: In the winter, skin tends to be more dry and sensitive. When spring weather hits, it’s time to exfoliate and remove those old, tired layers. Swap the heavy cleansers and moisturizers for lighter blends. Personally, when the seasons changes, I switch my face day oil to a serum for day. Sunscreen is now a must!
FIT Tips: Emerge from hibernation–rise early and hit the streets! Exercising outdoors is the best way to get fresh air AND that much needed dose of vitamin D. However–make sure to wear extra sunscreen and stay hydrated!
