Holiday Makeup Looks We Love

There’s something about the holiday season that makes us want to rock some sparkly eye makeup and bold red lips. Whether you have a holiday party coming up or just want to get into the festive spirit, this is a great time to experiment with fun, shimmery looks that will make you stand out. We did some research on the best makeup looks for the holidays and we wanted to share our favorites with you. Here’s a roundup of the holiday looks we’re loving right now:

Inky Lip

The berry lip is a classic color for the holiday season, and that’s why we’re loving the inky lip look. This color takes the dark lip to new heights, and is so perfect for an edgy holiday look. Byrdie did a roundup on dark shades for every skin tone and we’re loving this sexy Charlotte Tilbury shade and this moody Nars color. Or try this all natural alternative, Darkroom by Kosas, all perfect for some holiday drama.

All-Over Highlight

The All-Over Highlight look is a great way to get an illuminating, bright look that’s seasonally appropriate. For this look, Into the Gloss suggests using Haloscope’s highlighter in the shades Quartz, Topaz, and Moonstone. Then, finish it off with Milani Palette’s Florence eyeshadow, which gives your eyes that shimmery, peach look.

Classic Red

It’s the perfect time of year for that classic red lip. We love how this festive shade can add a pop of color to a simple outfit. Into the Gloss recommends using The Nars Audacious Special Edition in Rita for a sleek, pretty red shade. We also love MAC’s Lustre Lipstick

Rose Gold Eyes

We’ve seen rose gold highlights recently, but the trend has made its way from hair to makeup, and we’re obsessed. This glimmery light shade looks good on everyone, and Byrdie recommends using Nars St. Paul De Vence Duo Eyeshadow. We also love the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecting Powder and the Beauty Master Mixer from RMS

Powerpuff Glitter

Refinery29 just released a video tutorial about this green Powerpuff Glitter look, and we love how edgy and quirky it is for a holiday party, after all Greenery was Pantone’s Color of the Year. All you need is an emerald-colored eyeshadow and a green liner!

Monochromatic Chromes

Monochromatic is another trend that will make you stand out at a holiday party, and we love J. Lo’s holiday glam look featured on Refinery29. We recommend using this golden peach Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in Nude No 5 for a sexy, nude lip, paired with a killer layered sparkly eye courtesy of our favorite Naked3 Palette by Urban Decay
